hey Goosey stop drop your S**T lyric in forum. you are the lame poet. noone want to see your lame lyric I agree I am a lame poet, my post dont even rhyme! Roses are red violets are violet I'm answering factually You should just be quiet. :-D Trolling aside... not only myself, but people experienced in coding, and the inner workings of the game (much more so than myself) have responded to your questions and request, and you have ignored them. I know its frustrating, trust me. I would pay any subscription to log in and play Helbreath myself. Sadly that's not the case, at lease not right now. A project is in the works, what that leads to we ALL have to wait and see. If you wish to make impossible demands and just be toxic, there is plenty of other avenues to take, its not needed here. Lmao, they won't open back the server. Even if they have 100 people offering to volunteer to do all the work and sign any agreement, they still wont. I...ok Lmao, they won't open back the server. Even if they have 100 people offering to volunteer to do all the work and sign any agreement, they still wont. Would be too much work to prepare it. Even if it ended in success they probably can't afford the money or time to get that going right now. Well least that ones logical.

Yet people are running private servers everyday (not saying they are good) but still, sad really.

Private servers work because there is no standard of quality and until it is functional, it is free labor.

True enough, but you'd think they would have a backup or sources that weren't total shit, reality is the game didn't change much from its core in the last 10 years "which is probably part of the problem with the sources/files haha" So the only real hard costs to start is a programmer/coder, obviously that would change moving forward if you were going to make some long awaited expansions on the game but to get a player base/testing phase going, doesn't sound like much to me.

How many of the private server community utilize source control? Does iEnt bother with it? Bugs and issues get introduced into the sources, then what? Backups were likely not even considered since just to do them is as easy as copy-pasting a folder. Looking back of the development days of HB, it pains me to realize no one used svn, git, mercurial, etc until yeaaaars after (and most still don't to this day). The server would likely still be up if source control was used.

Just seems like a waste that they aren't doing anything with helbreath, its definitely dated but still has a core concept/build. Not having to start from scratch on visuals "sprites/maps/sounds/Etc" obviously it would need a lot of engine work done, but I feel like someone such as Zero could put a lot of that together. They could even throw a kickstarter for all its worth lol, millions of people worldwide don't even know about this game and it already looks better than most of the shit on that site atm.

Well as I've said, I'm doing a whole rewrite as it is and the plan is to possibly market it as a new game with changed visuals and all if it succeeds. If it doesn't succeed, at the least it's a base I can use for something else If you want to see my progress, just visit my forum. If you have to ask the address, it makes me sad that people have forgotten
