Hail, It seems the amount of people registering here has picked up, but the amount of post is slowing down. We don’t want you all to lose interest here, so I have decided to put together a little questionnaire to help spark a few opinions/conversations. My thought on this is to provoke conversation and ideas. We fully understand how easy it is to say “Ef this, ef them, we want staff to care”, that’s not the information we are in search for, we want intelligent views and ideas, save the witch hunts of the past for another time, and lets move past them. We are here, and putting forth the effort you require, so please help us by being constructive with your criticism. It should be pointed out, that we are looking at the game from several years ago, before all of the changes that were made based on community size and popular opinions, I am referring to back when slime jellies were edible , M-Shield wands were a thing, MR party’s were an everyday occurrence, ND existed near Warehouses, Barracks raiding till full hero, etc etc. before items, events, buildings, places, things were taken away or altered (good reason or not). You do not have to answer all of these questions; I just want to field a lot of questions that we are talking about internally to kind of open everyone’s minds up a bit to what is being done and more importantly, what can be done. Again, keep in mind, these are not decisions, these are questions being asked; no more, no less. Do not read too far into any of this.I will be happy to share my opinions of these individual question if you would like, for now I am more interested in yours. That being said, you don’t need to answer or follow this in any particular way, this is just a guideline, something to read through and inspire a conversation and ideas. I will periodically be updating this as I come up with more (feel free to suggest) *Added few more questions*- What is your absolute favorite aspect of Helbreath?
- How long have you played helbreath?
- How would you best describe helbreath?
- Have you ever looked at the Helbreath Story thus far? How would you like the new game to fall into this? If at all.
- Name suggestions?!
- What is your favorite Role? Why?
a) Mage b) Warrior c) Hybrid - Did you ever want to, or have you tried other roles? What kept you from it?
- In your opinion, what is the best weapon/spell in game?
- What weapon or spell do you wish was more viable?
- Name 3 items or spells you wish were more viable.
- If you could add any type of item to the game, what would it be?
- If you could modify any item/spell/ability in the game, what would it be? How would you change it?
- Do you think the game should go back to a subscription based game? If not, what options/bonus’ do you think could be provided for an optional subscription?
- Weekly event ideas or constant event types (Think arena system from other games). Are you happy with how crusades and castle sieges are played out (short of player base)? Are there any changes you would like to see to any of these classic event styles?
- Think about the combat system, do you like it? Any suggestions or dislikes behind mechanics? Things to consider:
- Grid based movement. - Critical Strike system. - “Skill” Based Aiming/Targeting (aka, no click/tab targeting) - MR/AP/MA/MR/Regen Based Armors - Safe zones - Player Effects ie. Knockbacks/Slows/Disorienting Effects - What are your thoughts on Max Level?
- What are your thoughts on Max Stats?
- What are your thoughts on current state of the Stats and their ”place” in the game?
- What are your thoughts of DK Armor and Weapons?
- What are your thoughts on Hero Armor?
- On a scale of 1-5 (One being Least Favorable, 5 Being Most Favorable), how would you rank the leveling process/flow of the game. Things to Consider:
- Do you think current game style caters to the beginning/middle and end of the leveling process? - Does the game only become fun as you level? - Does the game get less fun as you level? - If you chose anything below a (1), what would you like changed/included?
- What are your thoughts on cash shop?
- What would you like to see added or removed?
- How do you feel about the game master presence in the game? Did you like the physical appearance and interaction within the game for questions and events; or do you prefer them to remain behind the scenes through email and/or ticket system support.
- More to come...

Im busy playing the end game trying to achieve some goals that I had before the server is wiped and all my items are lost. The only player asking you to wipe the item is non-paying costumer. My friends are the only one who still buy from cash shop. We will support you only if our item is not lost.

My friends are the only one who still buy from cash shop. We will support you only if our item is not lost. I'd like to think you don't mean me, but I'm just going to throw it out there. 1) I never "asked" for a wipe. I do, however, see it as a viable solution for a game that is quite obviously dead. I have my character logged in everyday, and the day's chat fits into one box, no scrolling. I currently am being kept company by one other person in the wh. 2) the "non-paying" customer comment: currently pay for what? I paid YEARS of monthly p2p and extras (anyone seeing my pink set knows I've put out money), but there's nothing for me to even think about paying for. I'm not even saying that maliciously, there is literally nothing worth paying for atm. If there should be an incentive in the future, then I would be willing to pay to have fun again. Currently, there is no incentive for me. 3) I think it's great you and your friends buy from the cash shop, but how many friends do you have playing? Realistically playing and paying. I don't mean any offense by this, but business speaking, are you and 3,4,5? friends keeping the game afloat should you pay or not pay.
My overall point is this, my opinion of being pro-new game/server wipe is based on the fact that this current game is done. 5 ppl or less does not a server make. I am all for something new & exciting, run CORRECTLY and FAIRLY. There have been comments made from staff recently that have improved my attitude in regards to this being a reality.
As for the questionnaire:
1. fun with friends 2. not sure, would have to re-read. 3. something non-Abaddon Apocalypse ie Helbreath Revolution or Revalations or something Resident Evil-ish haha 4. Mage, have been since day 1. 5. Have tried, playing a war feels so start & stop when playing. Mage feels a lot more fluid to me. 6. res wand, mer shield 7. golden axe because DUH will have to revisit this q 8. same as 7? 9. something with hero sets. upgraded in color or features. 10. will revisit later 11. yes 12. love crusades & sieges. also like the idea of capture the flag & soccer type games. 13. yes 14. should be 180, possibly less 15. 200 is ok. 16. hate it. 17. armor is ok, weapons could use some love. would like if mage rapier could be upgraded. 18. same as my #9 answer 19. 2 20. 21. do not like the idea of major things being sold ie overpowered spells that are for permanent use. "brittle" items are ok for a worthy price. lesser things like armor/cloth dyes are ok. 22. would like the game to have a more original feel. would be neat to see pl 120- map again. would like to have all maps open again. 23. would like to see more of a presence. would be nice if there was always a gm on for q's, or at least every few hours like clockwork. I think physically SEEING a person makes for more of a warm feel, as opposed to a cold behind the scenes corporate feel.

The goal of this project is not to appease a hand full of people, but to relaunch an iconic game to the masses and appease many people. You keep referring to a wipe, the game will not be wiped, we are making a new game, completely, so naturally items cannot be directly transferred over (There is alot of conversation surrounding this currently, and right now I will just say anything is possible). What the current games future holds, I do not know right now. That will be made apparent in the coming weeks. It wont be deleted or lost, it will remain in tact, for what ever that future holds.
I truly truly appreciate the passion displayed in this and other post, and please have your friends come here and share theirs as well.
Thank you.

Mage, have been since day 1. 5. Have tried, playing a war feels so start & stop when playing. Mage feels a lot more fluid to me. (I like your description of the feel on warrior, its more or less the reason I never played one seriously. )
6. res wand, mer shield (Reswand huh? Didn't expect that, is it a looks thing? Or am I missing something?) 7. golden axe because DUH will have to revisit this q (Golden Axe?! Really? lol I honestly completely forgot about this weapon. Its interesting, such a "rare" weapon, (rareish) never lived up to much.) 8. same as 7? 9. something with hero sets. upgraded in color or features. (It would be nice to give hero sets (or something similar) more of a lasting reason to use them more frequently...The counter to this could be looking at the other armors and making them less viable to balance backwards.. Alot to consider!) 10. will revisit later 11. yes 12. love crusades & sieges. also like the idea of capture the flag & soccer type games. (I would love to get some other event types in the works, must admit CTF has a special place in my heart from my stints in competitive play in other games!) 13. yes
14. should be 180, possibly less 15. 200 is ok. 16. hate it. (You know I am going to ask you to elaborate on this!) 17. armor is ok, weapons could use some love. would like if mage rapier could be upgraded. (hmm) 18. same as my #9 answer 19. 2 20. 21. do not like the idea of major things being sold ie overpowered spells that are for permanent use. "brittle" items are ok for a worthy price. lesser things like armor/cloth dyes are ok. (I (and other members of the team) are very against having any sort of high end weapons or spells that put people more financially capable ahead of the average Joe. I am confident enough to say you shouldn't have to worry about this, obviously we want the game to generate income, but not at the cost of imbalance..no pun intended ) 22. would like the game to have a more original feel. would be neat to see pl 120- map again. would like to have all maps open again. (I would love to see the vastness of the game return, maybe not with all of the same map (maybe not at all the same) but still, vast open maps, mines, dungeons, multi tiered, etc. As mentioned in previous questions, I feel an importance in the "below max level" aspects of the game that may have been lost when numbers dropped., including lower level maps and even dungeons.) 23. would like to see more of a presence. would be nice if there was always a gm on for q's, or at least every few hours like clockwork. I think physically SEEING a person makes for more of a warm feel, as opposed to a cold behind the scenes corporate feel. (I always liked the concept of a visual GM, the trick is finding the members that can, as I was taught (Thanks Tam) to separate the "Player mind" when you are doing your job. Its tricky to balance being a likable member of staff, and a competent member of the team to be taken seriously. From my experience several player GMs failed at this, I think even I did for a while. (Again, thanks Tam!) Filling the roles seems to be the hardest task. You mention having them online like clock work, in the past (my past, not recent past), the position was highly volunteer, and members were held to a standard, but a loosely based one. Perhaps making hard schedules and requirements will separate the ones able to separate that "player mindset" from the GM one.)

Gorgeous,
I understand you do not enjoy this game and do not wish to pay or play. Enjoy the new game but why do you recommend an item wipe for a completely different game?
Goose- You are saying this game server will continue even when new game is out?
also... It sounds like this game is a mere thought as of now and nothing has been done so far. Can you provide screenshot of what you are working on?

Goose- You are saying this game server will continue even when new game is out? also... It sounds like this game is a mere thought as of now and nothing has been done so far. Ient understands that people have dedicated years into Helbreath, but with the game in it's current state, and with the population dwindled to just a handful of people, it's time to create something new. This isn't to say that there might not be a bonus allotted to previous players for their character, items, experience, etc. That part of the relaunch will naturally be decided as the goals and vision of the future come together. There is no specific information available on how that will play out at this time. The goal is to have something the community, both new and old, can enjoy and come back to or even start for the very first time. There are wide range of possibilities for this relaunch; currently these are all in heavy development. We will release more information on what the future will hold, and currently everything is "on the table". This means that we are collecting feedback from a wide range of sources - Current players, former players and gaming enthusiast in general. Your comment that this relaunch is "merely a thought" is in some ways accurate and in many ways not accurate. We have a set of goals that we hope to accomplish, which will be released to everyone shortly; our goal is that these ideas and our plan will continue to spark interest in this great game. Although waiting is frustrating, they will be released in the coming days and weeks. Exactly how we plan to have these goals accomplished will also be released, with some potential deadlines and benchmarks for completion made public. The community can follow along with these goals, and even contribute towards them in various ways. The core values of this game are paramount to Ient; great PVP action, great hunting, and competitive game-play that will be enjoyed by a wide range of gamers potentially across multiple platforms. We hope the next chapter will be even more enjoyable then the last, and we also want to attract the next generation of gamers while not alienating current players. This will be no small task, but with help and feedback from current players, we hope to make this a reality in the future. Your continued constructive feedback is appreciated. Thanks you, Reyes

6. res wand, mer shield (Reswand huh? Didn't expect that, is it a looks thing? Or am I missing something?) Res wands are very powerful in pvp... cwd had at least 4? in pvp and if someone died, there was almost always someone there to res you back to keep on fighting. But, yes, they also look cool. 7. golden axe because DUH will have to revisit this q (Golden Axe?! Really? lol I honestly completely forgot about this weapon. Its interesting, such a "rare" weapon, (rareish) never lived up to much.) Joking only. 8. same as 7? 9. something with hero sets. upgraded in color or features. Unless I should change my vit stat, to continue using ESW I am forced to use an INT angel. STR on mer shield was changed, forcing me to change my STR stats and lower my vit... so should I want to wear my MAG angel for added dmg, stat points would have to be taken from a place like vit to compensate... it should be exciting to use a rare, and not so difficult to use it. Also would like to add that blizzard is a 195? int generic spell that is higher damage currently than the rare 220 int ESW... aside from maybe the mana usage for ESW, what the heck?? For someone in the game who doesn't have an INT angel, getting ESW would mean low vit, str, dex, whatever and quick death for a spell that isn't currently as worthy as the generic blizzard?? Maybe someone has a different insight on this specifically, but *at the time* it seemed like if there was something that wasn't liked by some, it was changed. MIM was made rare, alright. But then generic spells Illu movement, mass illusion, etc. were removed after seeing the uptick in use after MIM was made rare. There IMO wasn't a good plan set in place and every week something new was "implemented"/removed... but that's a different story for a different time. 17. armor is ok, weapons could use some love. would like if mage rapier could be upgraded. All of the new stat requirements will likely be reversed, mainly because; 1) We have no solid documentation of this or many of the other changes like this. 2) The few I have talked to about this, are not able to justify the reasoning for these changes. My "ass-u-me-umption" is that this was a way to try to lower the threat levels of ESW Mages, a change that was likely a compensation based on the community size to combat them. (If anyone has a better Justification please speak up!). Either way I feel there will be better ways to look at this should the issue arise. As for the de-buffing abilities. Again, more changes we have no information past hear-say. I do agree, that your typical Warrior is more or less made "useless" against a mage with 200int and MIM (or even IM). I don't know that the answer is to remove them from the game, perhaps allow warriors a way or means to compensate for it, be it shorter length of the spell effect, maybe a channeled cleanse spell, or making diminishing returns a "thing" on de-buff oriented spells, meaning sure the first MIM will be displeasing, but the next one, will be half duration, and the 3rd will only last a second or 2, on some sort of 1 minute cool-down of the DR or something to that effect, making the spells involve less spamming, and more strategy. Diminishing Returns would add an interesting characteristic to the game. Thoughts?

Would it be possible to make such a thing? Add a few talents to benefit warriors, mages, hybrids, and everyone. Something under a "warrior" tree could be reduction of magic effects such as freeze and para while mages could do increased damage talents or magic regen. Just a thought even tho i know its a sterotype of most rpgs to do.

Only way I see this game getting any new players or a "spark" would be to somehow get it on a Steam like gaming platform.

HB in itself still remains a rather unique game, I dont see harm in borrowing a few "stereotypical" things from other games in the same genre if people enjoy them.Only way I see this game getting any new players or a "spark" would be to somehow get it on a Steam like gaming platform. Hello sir! Welcome to the forums =) That's a great idea, and with the relaunch not at all out of the realm of possibilities. I personally don't know the requirements on a game level, or company level but worth looking into.
Thanks!

I shouldn't say its the only way* however it would be hard not to say a HUGGGGGGGGGGGGEE!!! majority of gamers use the Steam platform. Wouldn't be a bad idea to check into it & see what needs to be done to get the game there.

We hope the next chapter will be even more enjoyable then the last, and we also want to attract the next generation of gamers while not alienating current players. This will be no small task, but with help and feedback from current players, we hope to make this a reality in the future. Your continued constructive feedback is appreciated. Thanks you, Reyes-Reyes did you check the helbreath.com official server. This server is thriving and has been. So why is this server not? The answer to this question is because lent the same company you are asking the community to support stopped supporting us. Reyes its been at least 3-4 years since I saw your name on a forum. Previous IENT employees (avour) have tried hard to no avail because they were not getting backing from the company. They tried to contact other employees for months and got no reply. When the game master from ient asked us to pledge $2500 USD for the source code some members of the community put the money up. Only for the game to be left in a worse condition with none of the promises fulfilled. I remember people having to wait months just to get a character unstuck because no one would reply from Ient.
